WIP - Catching up on Quilting

I have several quilts that need to be quilted.  3 of my own and 3 for a client.  I am not starting any new projects (or catching up on other WIP's) until I get these quilts done!  So on this gorgeous Wednesday, I am locked away upstairs quilting before I have to go into work.

Today, I am working on a special quilt for a special person.  A birthday is coming up soon!  I pieced the quilt with Kate Spain's Terrain fabric and Moda porcelain.  I want to keep this one! Love the colors!  I am using King Tut thread in Morning Sky which is a nice, very light gray, purply, rosy color.  Well, like a morning sky!  The quilting pattern is one of Anne Bright's called Flared Flowers.  I am also doing a border on this quilt with the Flared Flowers.  My price for doing something like this is $.03 per square inch.  (See my website for services and prices here at Creekside Quilting Services.

Lucky Stars Christmas!

Yes, I did say Christmas!  Because I have to show you what just came off the frame!  A cheery, lovely Christmas quilt!  It is hard to think Christmas when it is sunny and warmer outside - okay, at least where I am at.  I bet for some it is not so hard with this snowy, cold winter we have had.

 A closed up of the quilting which is Wasatch Quilting's Simple Modern Christmas Trees E2E pattern.  The thread is Superior Thread's King Tut in Holly and Ivy variegated color.   I wish I could keep this one, but it isn't mine.  The size is 45" x 60".

Quilted in an allover, nested squared spirals pattern with King Tut White Linen 40 wt. thread.

Up close picture of the quilting after being washed and dried.  The batting is 100% cotton Quilter's Dream Select.   This is not a big quilt - more a lap sized one.  About 40" x 50" after washing and drying.  (Looks like a missed a thread.  Pretend like it isn't there.)

Noteworthy Quilt

This quilt is one layer cake of the fabric line Noteworthy by Sweetwater.  The pattern is called Lazy Sunday by Lee of May Chappell.  (There is a quilt along being sponsored by Sew Lux Fabric here.)

The quilting pattern is square spirals and are nested.  The thread is King Tut in White Linen.  The batting is Quilters Dream in Select 100% cotton.

Fall Back!

Turning the clocks back an hour means that I get one more hour of quilting time!  As Christmas gets closer and closer, going to need it! 

Here is a project that I just finished.  It is a kit from Connecting Threads and turned out really cute!  It is applique and piecing.  The quilting was done with King Tut cotton in three different colors.  This one will hang at the office for the next few weeks.

The next picture is one of a table runner that I quilted for a dear friend.  It is done in King Tut cotton in a fabulous variegated fall color!  More pumpkins...

Frame Friday

The Scary Pumpkin Party Quilt is all quilted and almost all the binding has been hand sewn down.  I will post pictures of the finished quilt after being washed and dried.  I have 3 that are completely quilted and in some various stage of the binding process.  Hand sewing on binding is my least favorite part of the entire quilting process.  I like to do it while watching TV at night.

Last night, I was up late working on this quilt that is on the frame this Friday:

 

 

The quilting pattern is edge to edge (E2E) seashells by Wasatch Quilting.  The thread is King Tut 100% cotton, top and bobbin (Papyrus or cream color).  This is a queen sized quilt.  This quilt was pieced by a very talented customer - it is her first one!  I am so impressed!   She also made matching shams to go with the quilt.  I really love how this one is coming along.

 

Well, off to take care of some other 'stuff'.
